Operations Risk and Control (ORC) ensure adequate controls are in place, through providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.

We are looking for a resourceful and dedicated VP candidate who can help design, deliver and implement critical elements of the Operations Control Risk Agenda across all regions for Morgan Stanley Global Operations. The specific areas of focus for the candidate will be Business Continuity Planning and Vendor Management.

Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

? Managing the Operations Division Asia Business Continuity Planning department and continually improving the resiliency of the teams to react to events, including real time incident management

o Handle Global communications to/for the Senior Operations Management for various work streams, especially during BCP incidents, and act as the focal point for regional situations and Operations assessments

o Partnering with other areas (i.e. Front Office Business Units, Finance, Technology) in Morgan Stanley to build out a business continuity risk & control framework

o Engage with supporting groups, i.e. technology, to enhance BCP resiliency program

o Liaise with TechDR and Firmwide BRM to coordinate required regulatory testing and industry-led initiatives with external entities

? Overseeing the Mumbai based Vendor Management team and managing the risks and relationships of our key business partners, including commercial oversight for expense reduction opportunities and strategy

o Design and implement enhancements to the global vendor management program

o Establish and monitor key supplier performance metrics

o Review and track risk components of Operations supplier relationships

o Coordinate, facilitate and / or lead vendor contract negotiations

o Create and institute an effective management reporting solution

o Provide regional functional leadership, management and coordination

? Promoting a risk aware culture across operations.


Skills Required:

? 10+ years of experience in financial services industry, Operations roles and/or business/budget management functions. Investment Management knowledge a plus.

? Excellent oral, written, communication and presentation skills with ability to tailor message to audience or varying levels

? Proven ability to collaborate across functional areas, developing relationships, setting strategy and driving agendas

? Management experience leading global team/comfortable with matrix based reporting lines

? Good analytical skills, able to extract key information and pre-empt management questions on the data presented

? Ability to analyze data and craft a risk story that will aid in overall risk mitigation for firm operations

? Excellent communication skills at all levels and strong organizational ability

? Strong presentation skills and confidence to host meetings

? Ability to work effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines

? Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

? Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence others

? Control & risk focused, with experience in operational risk

? Ability to understand issues and move projects forward
